The short version
Kidisms does not collect your data. Everything you save — quotes, photos, milestones, kid profiles — stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to see anything you enter into the app.

What data the app uses
Quotes, milestones, and kid profiles
Everything you type into Kidisms is stored as a JSON file in iCloud Drive, inside a folder called Kidisms in your personal iCloud account. This data never passes through our servers — it goes directly from your device to Apple's iCloud infrastructure under your Apple ID.
Photos
If you attach a photo to a quote or add a profile picture for a child, that image is stored alongside your quotes in iCloud Drive. Kidisms only accesses photos you explicitly choose using the iOS photo picker. We do not scan your photo library or access any photos you haven't selected.
Location
When you add a quote, you can optionally save the location where it happened (e.g., "Nashville, TN"). If you choose to use this feature, the app requests your device's location once, converts it to a city/state name using Apple's reverse geocoding service, and stores that text with the quote. We do not store GPS coordinates. You can decline location access and the app works fully without it.
Home screen widget
The widget displays a random quote from your collection. To do this, it reads quote data stored in a shared container on your device — a standard iOS mechanism for sharing data between an app and its widget. This data never leaves your device through us.
App settings and preferences
Preferences like appearance mode and custom tags are stored in your device's local storage (UserDefaults). This data stays on your device.
Family Sharing
If you use the Family Sharing feature, Kidisms creates a shared folder inside iCloud Drive that you can share with another person (such as a co-parent or spouse) using Apple's Files app. Anyone you share that folder with in Files will be able to read and add quotes through their copy of Kidisms. This sharing is managed entirely through Apple's iCloud infrastructure — Pleiades Labs LLC has no access to the shared folder or its contents.
What we do not collect
- We do not create user accounts or require sign-in
- We do not use any analytics or crash reporting SDKs
- We do not run advertising
- We do not track you across apps or websites
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any data
- We have no servers that receive your data
Children's privacy
Kidisms is designed for parents and caregivers to use. It is not directed at children, and children are not the users of the app — they are the subjects of the memories parents record. The app does not collect data from children. Parents control all content entered into the app.
Data stored by Apple
When you use iCloud, Apple stores your data on their servers according to Apple's own privacy policy and terms of service. We have no control over and no access to this data. You can review Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/privacy.
Exporting and deleting your data
Export: You can export all your quotes at any time from Settings → Export & Backup. Available formats include CSV, JSON, plain text, Excel, and RTF.
Delete: You can delete individual quotes, milestones, and kids from within the app. To remove all data, delete the Kidisms folder from iCloud Drive using the Files app, then delete the app from your device.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Because we have no user accounts, we cannot notify you directly — we recommend checking this page occasionally.
